Our names are Taylor and Annie Johnson, and we are the owners and breeders of Skinner Airedales. Since 1999, we have had Airedales in our home, and we absolutely love this breed. We have four children who have cherished growing up around Airedale puppies and various other dog breeds throughout their lives. As a family, we all participate in the Airedale Terrier breeding process and truly enjoy sharing our lives with these wonderful dogs! We believe Airedale Terriers are the best all-around dogs for every stage of life; they have plenty of energy to keep up when needed but can also relax and settle down when it's time. Take a look around and be sure to check out our "About Skinner Airedales" section, as well as the "Coats" and "The Airedales" sections. Reserving Your Puppy...
We have a short form that we will send you upon request with all the details on how to place a deposit on a Skinner Airedale puppy. Once that form is filled out, returned to us, and we receive your deposit, your name will be placed on our list.
Pricing...
Please contact us for current pricing on Airedale puppies for sale.
Timing...
When the puppies are born, families who have placed deposits will be contacted immediately. If there are any puppies that do not have reservations, we will post about them here on our website and share them on our socials. At 6 weeks old, once they receive their physicals at the vet's office, reserved puppies will be chosen by their new families. We do this at this age to confirm the availability of remaining puppies and give us time to find them homes before their Pick-Up Day at 8 weeks old.
Also, very importantly, around the 6-week mark, we will have a conversation with each family to set up their Pick-Up date and time or discuss transportation needs if we haven't already made these decisions. You can expect posts and updates via our socials and emails to keep new owners informed about how their Airedale puppies are growing and changing in the weeks leading up to bringing their puppy home.
Bringing Your Puppy Home...
Puppy Pick-Up Day takes place at 8 weeks old. Each puppy will have a vet exam before being sent to their new home as well as being up-to-date on necessary immunizations, with their first heartworm treatment, dewormed, tail docked, and AKC Puppy Papers will be available.

Refund Policy: Deposits placed to reserve a puppy are non-refundable; however, they are transferable between future, approved litters.

Transportation: While we prefer that new owners come in person to pick up their new Airedale puppies, we understand that this may not always be possible. In such cases, we are happy to meet you anywhere within a 100-mile radius of our home for an additional fee of $200 added to your balance due. If you require transportation beyond 200 miles, we recommend Lilian from Road Dawgz at (573) 539-9042 as a reliable pet transportation service option in the continental United States. Lilian will provide her own fee based on various factors, which we will relay to you around the time when the puppies are 6 weeks old and we are scheduling Pick-Up Day. For international transportation needs, please reach out to Tails In The Air: Pet Relocation Experts, as we are unable to provide international transport without their services. We have collaborated with them before and highly recommend them for all your international Airedale puppy transportation needs.

You don't have to talk very long about Airedale's without mentioning their coats. The general consensus is that there are three types of coats: a Sheep-coat, a Wire Coat, and a Soft Coat. At Skinner Airedales, we do not keep sheep-coat Airedales in our breeding program. While temperament takes precedence, we find that sheep-coat Airedale coats are prone to matting, carry more odor, and don't seem to handle extreme temperatures as well. Soft coats, well, they kind of speak for themselves. Although they can make a perfectly good pet, we don't use them in our Airedale Terrier breeding program due to the significant temperature fluctuations here in Wisconsin and their low tolerance for these changes. The middle coat, the Wire Coat, is more typical of a traditional Airedale coat and is what people prefer above all the other types. This coat has a lot of potential and, with proper grooming, can be durable and easy to care for. It sheds water easily, keeps them cooler in the summer and warmer in the winter, has very little odor, and sheds so little that it's a refreshing change from some other breeds out there! One aspect that is not often discussed but certainly deserves more attention is the coat known as a Slick Coat, sometimes referred to as a "redline," or what Henry Johnson called "the 3rd quadrant." This is particularly relevant for those interested in Airedale Terrier breeding and finding Airedale puppies for sale. Click here to read a post featuring some of Henry Johnson's insights on the crucial role that slick coats play in the Airedale breed, including information from Skinner Airedales.

Geordie Sean, one of the charming Airedale puppies for sale, was born in September 2022. He boasts a fabulous coat that requires little-to-no grooming, and when he does need a touch-up, he has only ever been hand-stripped. As a great family dog and dedicated protector of the yard, you would be hard-pressed to find a more people-oriented, attentive dog. He's a quick study, transitioning from a happy-go-lucky pet to an all-business terrier when needed. Coming from working lines in the Oklahoma/New Mexico area, his lineage reflects the quality of Airedale Terrier breeding. He has proven himself more than competent in the woods, embodying a true 'ride or die' spirit and is eager to please. He stands approximately 23 inches at the shoulder and weighs around 60 pounds, making him an ideal companion for any family.

Skinner, born in August 2016, has proven to be a solid, well-rounded Airedale Terrier that has been an asset in every activity we’ve involved him in. He enjoys hunting and has easily adapted to everything from varmint hunting to retrieving birds. Coming from working lines out of the Oklahoma/New Mexico area, Skinner is truly a Working Airedale. He has a great love for his family, and during the summer, his favorite pastimes include playing with Airedale puppies for sale and visiting the river to swim. Weighing approximately 70 pounds and standing about 24 inches at the shoulder, Skinner Airedales exemplify the breed's versatility and charm.

Smidgen was born in April 2024 and is from our Vera X Geordie litter. As one of our Airedale puppies for sale, Smidgen is a very promising young Airedale that we are extremely excited to have in our Skinner Airedales program. Like all of her siblings, she boasts an exceptional coat and a pleasing yet discerning temperament, making her adaptability particularly encouraging to see in a dog so young. Smidgen displays all the signs you want to see in an Airedale Terrier and we can't wait to see how she turns out.

Nash was born in April 2024 and is a Vera X Geordie pup, making him a full sibling to Smidgen. As one of our exceptional Airedale puppies for sale, Nash is a remarkable young male that was too extraordinary to let go; we knew we had to keep him. He possesses phenomenal bone structure and showcases that highly sought-after 'old school' Airedale look that we are excited to reproduce in our lines through our Airedale Terrier breeding program. This classic Airedale has a discerning temperament, eye-catching features, and is already proving to be a tremendous companion and cautious protector.
